Strength
Of Us
This web sitewas developed by young adults and launched by NAMI.
It is a user-driven social networking community where members can
connect with peers, share personal stories, creativity and helpful
resources by writing and responding to blog entries, engaging in
discussion groups and sharing videos, photos and other news. The
site is intended not just for young adults who have a mental illness,
but for anyone entering adulthood that has a friend, parent or other
family member facing a mental health problem.
National
Network on Youth Transition
The Mission of the NNYT Network is to improve practices, systems,
and outcomes for transition-age youth and young adults (14-29 years
of age) with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties.
Healthy
Transitions Initiative
The National Technical Assistance Center for Children's Mental Health
has been funded by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration, Center for Mental Health Services, to support the
work of the grant communities involved with the Healthy Transitions
Initiative. The Healthy Transitions Initiative is a cross-agency
initiative aimed at addressing issues that youth and young adults
encounter as they transition to adulthood. This initiative will
create developmentally appropriate and effective youth guided local
systems of care to improve outcomes in the areas of education, employment,
housing, mental health and co-occurring disorders and decrease contacts
with the juvenile and criminal justice systems.
Transition
of Youth and Young Adults with Emotional or Behavioral Difficulties
An Evidence-Supported Handbook
Edited by Hewitt B. "Rusty" Clark, Ph.D., & Deanne K. Unruh, Ph.D.
As youth with emotional or behavioral difficulties transition from
school and home settings, they face the complex challenges and expectations
of adult life: finding and maintaining work, establishing new relationships,
building a career, and more. This comprehensive professional handbook
will help transition specialists, general and special educators,
school psychologists, and administrators support youth and young
adults in setting goals and achieving positive outcomes across employment,
education, and community settings. For more information, press
