MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS ~

Because feeling valued, loved and accepted are key to children's success in school and their overall behavior and happiness. Positive social experiences help children acquire skills over time.

It is estimated that at least one in 20 children and adolescents may have a serious emotional disturbance that severely disrupts life at home, school, and in the community. SEMHSOC works with parents and caregivers, youth, schools, community health centers, psychiatric treatment programs, social service organizations, juvenile justice systems, and primary health care organizations in an effort to coordinate services to most effectively address the needs of infants, children and youth while allowing them to remain in their community.

SEMHSOC strives to provide useful resources to parents, caregivers, and other families and members of the community.
